dear expectant mother
Dear Expectant Mother,
We can’t tell you how much of a blessing it is to have you consider us to raise your baby. We know the decision is not easy, and we are incredibly grateful just to have the opportunity to share a bit about us with you. Having adopted our first child, we are deeply aware of the adoption process and know how much a mother has to love her child to bless us with the opportunity to love, care, and raise her child in our home.
We are very fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with a child once they come into our home. Rich is able to take fourteen weeks of paid leave, and Steve receives a similar amount of time. Having the time to genuinely bond and nurture a newborn child is so important, and we are thankful to have jobs that allow us to not have to worry about childcare and work responsibilities.
Our daughter, Emerson, can’t wait to be a big sister. She has spent many months practicing hugging, feeding, and nurturing her favorite babydoll. Emerson has been so interested in all of the nieces and nephews who have come into our family over the last two years. Her favorite thing to do with her two youngest cousins is hold their hands and help them learn to walk!
Thank you for considering us. We sincerely hope you will consider choosing us to raise your baby.
About Us
We are Rich, Steve, and our daughter, sweet little Emerson Mae. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption again! Steve is a product manager working in education tech, and Rich is a product manager working in the health tech industry. Steve also works at our local Presbyterian church as a youth choir director and videographer extraordinaire. While Steve is working, Rich likes to spend his time cooking with Emerson and creating new recipes in the kitchen. Emerson spends most of her time laughing, playing with her own kitchen, and cuddling with her two best friends, our dogs, Sully and Olivia. As a family, we spend as much time as we can outdoors and love to camp in the summer, but when the weather isn’t agreeable, we spend our time inside playing games, watching our favorite TV shows, and completing home renovation projects.
Our Home & Pets
We purchased our first home together six years ago and absolutely adore it! Our house is in the city but has a somewhat suburban feel. There are three bedrooms and two baths along with a sizable backyard and patio. Our favorite room in the house is our daughter’s nursery! One of our favorite parts of the outside of our house is the fire pit we built ourselves. We love spending time in our backyard playing with our daughter and admiring the gardens we are growing as well. Sully and Olivia are our two dogs and may be the only ones who love the backyard more than we all do. We can’t wait to take our children to our local park around the corner, a place we frequent with our friends and their families.
Our Extended Family
We are lucky to both have incredible families who are ready to love and support our growing family. We have been incredibly blessed with how much our families have welcomed our first adopted child into our extended family!
Both of our parents live a short car-ride away, just outside of our city, and we both have several siblings we get to see throughout the year. Spending time together is important to us, and we cherish the traditions and events that bring our extended families together.
While holidays are important to both of our families, Steve’s family always has a Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve. We gather around the tree and exchange presents, opening them one at a time for all to see! Rich’s family has an annual vacation that usually brings together between 20-30 of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. We usually get a big house at the beach or lake and spend at least a few days having fun and enjoying each other’s company. Both of our families are incredibly excited about us adopting again, and we can’t wait to share and pass on these traditions.
Our Adoption Story
We have always wanted children. In fact, it was one of the first conversations we ever had! As a same-sex couple, we are not able to have children on our own, and adoption is how we welcomed our daughter into our family. Aside from having personal experience, we have seen adoptions with several of our friends and through our local foster care agency. Through the process of adoption, we know we can continue to build our forever family.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
