dear expectant mother
Dear Expectant Mom,
We want to start by acknowledging how difficult of a decision it is to consider adoption for your child, and we are humbled that you would consider us to parent them. You are a great mom for choosing life for your child and loving your child so much that you are considering all the options for their future. We feel it is very mature and selfless of you.
We have a friend who made this same decision for her first son back in 2008. She has shared with us that it has been the best decision she has ever made. Her relationship with her son and his adoptive parents has been one of the biggest blessings. She has been involved in his life while giving him the ability to have a life that she was not able to provide for him when we were in our early twenties. We also have friends who have adopted children and have shared how rewarding it has been to be given the opportunity to become parents.
There will never be the proper words to express the gratitude we would feel for being given the opportunity to parent your child. We long to be parents, to share all the big and little moments of life with your child, to teach them, and to watch them grow and become their own person. This is something we have dreamed of for years, and we know we can offer a loving home. Thank you for taking some time to learn about us and consider us for such an amazing opportunity.
About Us
Hi! We are Nik and Shannon. We are playful and fun and love to share new experiences with each other and our extended family. Shannon is organized, structured, and outgoing, while Nik is a lover of “dad jokes,” funny, and laidback. We love to travel and have visited many states and countries together. We have lived in three different states together. We like to check out local attractions, but we also like to be homebodies at times. Shannon is creative and likes to flip furniture and DIY home renovation projects. Nik loves watching sports, working out, and going to thrift stores. We both love animals; we have a 17-year-old dachshund named Bean. We both work remotely. Shannon is an IT recruiter, and Nik is a Salesforce analyst. We both are into fitness and keeping our bodies strong.
Our Home & Pets
We built a six-bedroom home on a corner lot in 2023. We tailored our build plan with intentions of having a family here. We have two bedrooms specifically picked out for children; they share a Jack and Jill bathroom, and each has a walk-in closet. Our neighborhood has a lot of young families, excellent schools, and a community pool. We live ten minutes from the beach. We have the sweetest 17-year-old dog named Bean. He loves children.
Our Extended Family
Shannon has two brothers: an older brother who lives in Maryland with his family (wife, daughter (12), and two sons (10 and 5)) and a younger brother who lives in Florida with his wife and two daughters (4 and 2). We are all very close. Nik has one sister who lives in L.A. Shannon’s parents live about eight minutes from us, and Nik’s parents live about three hours away.
We celebrate Easter together each year with Shannon’s side of the family. The younger nieces from Florida enjoy spending time with the older cousins and doing Easter egg hunts at our place. We usually go up to Maryland for the 4th of July to celebrate birthdays, the kids from Maryland usually come down to South Carolina for a week either in the summer or for their spring break and stay with us. We always have a great time taking them to shows, strawberry picking, and the beach.
What Led Us To Adoption
We always thought we would have two biological children and then adopt one or two children. We have tried to expand our family for six years and have been through multiple rounds of IVF and two second trimester pregnancy losses. We have friends who have adopted and friends who have placed their children for adoption and have been told by all how rewarding and such a blessing it has been. We felt that it's time to pursue adoption. We know we are meant to be parents and can offer such a loving and stable home for a child.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
