Dear Extraordinary Mother,
We are in awe of your courage and compassion as you make such an enormous decision. We can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through right now, and we are sending good vibes to you and your baby.
We are truly grateful for the time you have taken to learn about our family. We are so excited to welcome your beautiful child into our life. In our home, your child will be cherished, encouraged to explore new things, and enveloped in light, laughter, and love. We will fill their days with joy, nature, dance, music, and all kinds of adventures.
We want to honor the sacred role you play in your child’s life, and are open to any level of communication you feel comfortable with. We want your child to find their deepest sense of self and resiliency, which means telling them all about you, your culture, and your traditions. We would like to support you in any way that helps to connect to your child’s journey.
Please know we are honored that you are considering our family to be a part of your and your child’s incredible story. We hope you find support, love, and peace during this momentous time!
With light & love,
Scott, Jenny April & Django
About Us
Hi there! We are a loving, artsy couple who enjoy all kinds of adventures. We grew up in neighboring suburbs of NYC but did not meet until one fateful summer evening in Washington, DC, in 2017. We talked, laughed, and walked the Rock Creek Trail for hours, and we have not stopped the party since. Scott is a government contractor by day and an avid musician by night who can be found rocking out on electric guitar, strumming acoustic blues, or singing Frank Sinatra. Jenny April is a holistic physical therapist, and can often be found leading workshops on women's health, studying interior design or zenning out in a yoga class. On weekends, we love to go hiking with our puppy, Django, bake delicious paleo desserts, have impromptu dance parties and guitar sing-alongs, see live performances, hang with friends and family, or just snuggle on the couch for a flick.
Our Home & Pets
We live in a townhouse in a wonderful historic neighborhood in northern Virginia. We love to walk to the farmers’ market, eat outside at the local Greek restaurant, stroll along the waterfront to our favorite ice cream shop, or just enjoy the sidewalk musicians. We live in a safe neighborhood with a wonderful school district. It is a 15-minute drive from DC, where there are incredible museums, cultural events, live performances, and a zoo. We are also a 30-minute drive from various hiking trails and nature preserves that we love to explore. Django is our puppy and always has many things to do! He keeps us busy chasing miniature tennis balls around the park and gives us endless snuggles. We can’t wait for our future child to experience the infinite love of Django.
Our Extended Family
We are both New Yorkers and have family still living there as well as all across the country. Scott has two older brothers and two teenage nephews in Connecticut, whom we sometimes see for Christmas (yes, we are Jewish and celebrate Christmas!). Our visits entail soccer games, endless conversation, and delicious meals as Scott’s older brother is a professional chef!
Jenny April’s sister and her family live in Boston with our niece and their three kittens. We often have yearly trips together by the Maine seashore, filled with blissful days of lounging, epic games of Uno and paddle ball, and cartwheel tutorials from Jenny’s niece. We often spend Thanksgiving with them and Jenny April’s mom, who is still in New York. Our trips to see her include Manhattan for brunch and Broadway shows as well as late night tea and Chinese checkers.
In addition, Jenny April has wonderful cousins in northern California with whom we celebrate hysterical Passover Seders every other year. The night is filled with eating, laughter, and singing, especially the prayers, which are set to the tune of Broadway musicals.
We are also fortunate to have cousins and friends living nearby and feel grateful for the love and support in our lives.
What Led Us To Adoption
The first time Jenny April heard Scott play “Wild Horses” on guitar, she thought, “This would be great for when we have kids!” This is a crazy thing to think on a second date, so she kept this to herself. Months later, we discovered our mutual desire to be parents and create a family together! Given that we met later in life, we soon found the biological route was not our path. We were inspired to adopt by two serendipitous occurrences: Jenny April was raised by an amazing woman from Belize, whom she loved as a mother. Secondly, our cousins have a biological son and adopted daughter. After hanging out with them for many Friday night Shabbat dinners, we experienced the incredible joy of their family and saw this as the path for us.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
