dear expectant mother
We’re honored you’re considering us and glad you’re exploring adoption. We have a strong relationship rooted in friendship, respect, and laughter. We are emotionally and financially stable with strong family and friend support. We would love it if you’d consider us the best home for your child. So many people are looking forward to welcoming your child into our silly, kind, and dependable family. We look forward to trips to the pumpkin patch, sledding, days at the farm to hang with Grandma and Grandpa, bedtime stories, baking cookies, pool days, family nights with movies, beagle snuggles, games, and much more. We’re wholeheartedly in for it all.
Our promise is to always speak of you with kindness and respect. Your child will know the decision you are making is one of the most courageous and open displays of love anyone could give their child. We are committed to ensuring your child knows you and your story and will work with you to navigate an open adoption if that’s your wish. As adoptive parents, we will have the joy of showering your child with unconditional love and showing them how worthy they are in this world. We will also have the opportunity to provide top-notch education and address any physical, emotional, educational, or social needs they might have. We can’t wait to travel with, support, teach, and have adventures with your child! Thank you for letting us introduce ourselves, and we wish you the best in this process.
About Us
We are Dan and Renee from Iowa. We met in 2010 and briefly dated. Renee moved to Arizona to pursue her doctoral degree in clinical psychology; Dan supported Renee’s passion for education and stayed in touch. We started dating again in 2017 and married in 2019. Dan enjoys gardening, woodworking, kayaking, fishing, projects around the home, and playing with the dogs. He makes our home cozy and inviting. Renee enjoys reading, walking the dogs, biking, baking, musical theater, and hosting gatherings. Her outgoing nature complements and balances Dan’s more introverted nature. We love to visit state and national parks, walk our dogs, cook meals at home and try new recipes, visit new restaurants, watch movies or TV together, or spend time with friends and family. Our relationship is built on love, mutual respect, humor, and communication. We balance adventures with slow days at home. We make a really great team and are ecstatic to bring a child into our lives.
Our Home & Pets
We live in a four-bedroom home in a quiet and friendly neighborhood, two blocks from a large park and four blocks from an excellent elementary school. One of our favorite parts of the home is the fenced-in backyard with a large deck, garden, hammock, and shade tree. We also love our living room with its large window, cozy fireplace, and plenty of spaces to cuddle up. Our neighborhood has a mix of families in various stages of life. We live in a large suburb close to a Midwestern city with a wide variety of diversity in cuisine, art, and leisure options. We have two beagles: Rorschach (Rory for short) is our 10-year-old female, and Nero is our 6-year-old male. They are here for pets, cuddles, and naps. We happily accommodate them.
Our Extended Family
Renee grew up with three sisters and remains close with her siblings and thirteen cousins. Her parents prioritized spending time with extended family, which includes lake weekends at the family’s cabin in Minnesota and large family holidays. Renee’s family values quality time, fun, and good food. Renee visits her nephew every Tuesday, a cherished tradition for her sister and nephew since his birth.
Dan has a smaller but equally active immediate and extended family. During his childhood, he spent a lot of time with his older sister and cousin, including weeks in the summer at their grandparents; house. Dan’s family also had a lake cabin, creating summer memories on the lake swimming, kayaking, boating, biking, and exploring. Holidays are particularly important to Dan’s family, with large meals and family spending time together. Dan’s family has a tradition of getting a live Christmas tree each year—a tradition we continue.
We also have strong connections with chosen family. We enjoy gathering with Renee’s college friends for our annual “friendsgiving” or themed potlucks with Dan’s childhood friends. Gathering with family and friends is important to us, and we know your child will fit right in and be loved by the many people in our lives.
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has always been a strong option for us. Our lives have been so positively impacted by adoption, including having a niece and two nephews enter the family via adoption. We have another nephew who joined the family via surrogacy and adoption. These children are so seamlessly integrated into our family and so loved. We discussed expanding our family through adoption for many years and know it’s the path for us. We are so excited to add another child, cousin, and grandchild to the mix.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
