About Us
Hello! We are Amanda and Lan. We met 15 years ago through mutual friends. We quickly became friends and, a few years later, started dating. We have now been married for seven years and are still best friends. Lan is incredibly compassionate and considerate of others, always ready to lend a helping hand. Amanda has a vibrant and sociable personality. Together we form a fantastic team. Amanda is a realtor, and Lan works as a financial controller for a casino. We enjoy being involved in our community by attending local events, serving on nonprofit committees and boards, and volunteering. We hold season tickets to the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoy attending games together. We both have loving and supportive families and often host gatherings at our home. Our house is full of laughter and love, and there is always something cooking!
Our Home & Pets
We have a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house complete with an inground pool, a screened porch, and a warm fireplace. We’re happy here with our life in the Midwest and enjoy all the seasons. We can totally picture ourselves staying forever! A huge reason we love it is the neighborhood, which is super safe and full of young families. It’s a popular spot for trick-or-treating, and on the Fourth of July, we have our own fireworks show. The community vibe is amazing, and everyone is always willing to lend a helping hand. We also have three dogs—Nala, Dash, and Meeko—and a cat named Oliver. They all get along great and love to cuddle!
Our Extended Family
Lan is from Minnesota, where her father and one sister still live, along with three nephews and a niece on the way. Her brother is based in Oregon, while another sister resides just down the street from us with her husband and their four daughters. Family gatherings are a cherished part of our lives, as we often take turns hosting dinners.
Amanda, who grew up in Kansas, has a strong connection with her mother, sisters, three aunts, and many cousins. She was also very close to her father, who passed away in 2023. One of Amanda’s sisters lives in Nebraska. It’s only a few hours' drive from us to visit them for special occasions. Amanda’s other sister lives locally and has two daughters. We especially enjoy celebrating birthdays with Amanda’s family, engaging in fun activities to honor each person’s special day.
Lan’s mom passed away in 2018, and one of her mom’s favorite things to do was cook for the family. In her memory, Lan and her sister always cook for Thanksgiving, and we host both families at our home, filling the day with delicious food along with plenty of card games. It’s our favorite family tradition!
What Led Us To Adoption
As we have evolved as a couple, both financially and emotionally, we feel ready to embark on the journey of starting a family. Our decision has been influenced by the joy and transformation that adoption brings to families. Amanda has a personal connection to adoption, as her mother faced the difficult decision to place her baby for adoption at the young age of 16. When Amanda was ten, she discovered she had a half-sister who bravely reached out to them. Now we all enjoy a beautiful relationship and have successfully blended our families. We are incredibly thankful for the lives we lead and the wonderful people around us, and we eagerly look forward to expanding our family through adoption.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
